These interactive experiences invite learners ages 6 and up to ask questions, make connections, and experience local history where it happened. Our Homeschool Field Trips rotate between the Molly Brown House Museum, the Daniels and Fisher Clock Tower, and historic Larimer Square.

Yes! Homeschool Field Trips are interactive, field trip tours, led by our museum educators. Depending on the date, Homeschool Field Trips take place at the Molly Brown House Museum, The Daniels and Fisher Clock Tower, or historic Larimer Square.
Our Homeschool Days programs are thematic programs that take place in the house, but do not include a tour of the house. We encourage families to participate in a field trip and in our Homeschool Days programs, as the material covered is different.

Homeschool Field Trips were created with students in grades K – 6th in mind, but all ages are welcome!

Homeschool Field Trips are offered on a monthly basis, rotating between several locations. If the dates available don’t work for your schedule, please contact education@mollybrown.org to make arrangements for a private field trip.

All Homeschool Field Trips are 90 minutes long.

Each field trip slot has a maximum capacity of 27 students. If you are bringing more than 27 students, you will need to book an additional tour time. Please book with accurate student numbers for each entry time so that we have enough materials and educators available.

All adults on the tour should be booked as chaperones.
We require 1 chaperone per every 10 students. You can bring as many chaperones as you would like as long as you do not go over the maximum 30 total people.
Chaperones are expected to help the museum guide and students at all times.Chaperones must be included in your number at booking and paid for. We cannot add chaperones later.

Siblings ages 0 – 4 are free as non-participating observers. To include them in the hands-on activities, please book them as a student to ensure we have enough materials and educators.

Yes, photos and videos are encouraged! Please remember to turn off your flash at the Molly Brown House Museum.
While videos are allowed, we ask that the museum educator not be filmed without their permission.
Please do not film the field trip in its entirety. -
Yes! Many families choose to eat lunch at one of the many restaurants in Larimer Square, or bring their own picnic lunch to enjoy at Skyline Park.
If you would like to eat lunch after a Molly Brown House Museum Homeschool Field Trip, Please email education@mollybrown.org to make arrangements, as we have very limited space available.

This is not a private field trip. It is possible that other homeschool groups will also book spots on the same field trip. If you prefer a private field trip on a different day, please email education@mollybrown.org to discuss options and availability.

Molly Brown House Museum Accessibility:
- Exploring the Museum includes climbing a series of staircases: 12 steps up to the front porch; 21 steps up to the 2nd floor; 19 steps to the 3rd floor, and 19 to return to the 1st floor from the second.
- Please note in your registration if the steps would be an issue for you and if you will need to use our lift to access the main floor of the Museum. The lift does not access the 2nd or 3rd stories.
- Strollers are not allowed inside the historic home. Please plan to leave them at home, or “park” them in our courtyard.
- Sensory Considerations: The museum environment is generally quiet with low lighting. Because this is a historic home, temperatures may be warmer than expected, and occasional noise from other visitors or tour groups is possible.
Larimer Square Accessibility:
- Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome! Surfaces may occasionally be uneven.
- This field trip requires about 1/2 mile of walking. Occasionally, sidewalks can be uneven.
- Sensory Considerations: This field trip takes place outdoors in a busy urban environment and may include traffic noise, crowds, construction, and varying weather.
Daniels and Fisher Clock Tower Accessibility:
- Sensory Considerations: Outdoor balconies may be windy or warm depending on the weather. Elevated views and open-riser stairs may be uncomfortable for some visitors.
- This field trip is not wheelchair or stroller accessible. The lobby and elevator are accessible; however, the upper observation levels require climbing multiple flights of open-riser stairs and are not wheelchair accessible. Participants should be comfortable navigating stairs and heights.
- Recommended Age: We recommend this experience for children ages 5 and up. Younger children are welcome, and we encourage families to consider their child’s comfort with heights, open-riser stairs, and following the group for the duration of the tour.
