FIELD TRIP PROGRAMS

Student Field Trips at the D&F Clock Tower From $15

Step back in time with a field trip to Denver’s historic Daniels & Fisher Clock Tower, once the tallest building west of the Mississippi. Students will learn about the tower’s architectural and cultural significance, ride the elevator to the upper floors, and explore areas accessible only by open-riser stairs, all while enjoying panoramic views of the city.

Our innovative and interactive programs will bring history to life with artifacts, historical facts, and fun activities! Scholarships are available. Most programs can be delivered virtually as well.

Denver Grows!

(2nd-5th grade)

How did Denver become Denver? What challenges did the early inhabitants encounter as they grew their neighborhoods to make Denver what it is today? Students will make decisions to grow their neighborhood of Denver in this high-stakes game!

Different Worlds of the Titanic

(3rd-5th grade)

Who were the people aboard the Titanic? What can the objects and documents they left behind tell us about their worlds? In this interactive program, students become someone who sailed on the Titanic and will compare and contrast their experiences on and off the ship with the lives of other passengers and crew.

LEGO City

(2nd-5th grade)

Build your own cities both past and present while becoming a historic preservationist. Learn about saving historic structures, the evolution of a city, and the importance of historic preservation in our most popular program!

Margaret for Change!

(3rd-5th grade)

Organizer, Philanthropist, Activist. Margaret’s superpower was bringing people together for a cause and making the world a better place. Learn about how Margaret made a difference and use some of her tactics to create a classroom rally!

Quest for Gold!

(3rd-5th grade)

In this interactive hands-on program, students will study real mining artifacts to investigate what life was like as a miner and dig into how the different kinds of mining work.

Science of Titanic

(4th-6th grade)

How did a ship that was built to be “unsinkable,” sink? In this program, students will learn about the scientific processes behind the building and sailing of the Titanic, how the Titanic was discovered 12,460 feet below the sea, and discuss what should be done with the wreck of the Titanic today.

Soldiers in Petticoats

(3rd-6th grade)

In 2023, Colorado marked the 130th anniversary of the passage of suffrage, the first state to do so. In this program, learn about the Suffrage movement in Colorado and the United States, and analyze primary sources to draw conclusions about how the public felt about women’s suffrage.

Titanic Shuffleboard

(2nd-4th grade)

Travel along with the Titanic, from inception to iceberg. Learn the history of the ship and that fateful night through a fun and interactive game played aboard the Titanic –shuffleboard! 

Lincoln Log City

(2nd-5th grade)

New for the ’25 – ’26 school year! Find out how a city is built and learn how to use Lincoln logs to create your own building! Have fun exploring the history of Denver and
understanding how important historic
preservation is.

Unfinished Revolutions

(5th - 8th grade)

NEW for the 25 – 26 school year! Analyze primary sources to explore how women helped shape the founding of the United States and the development of Colorado, despite being left out of many official histories. Reflect on how women’s contributions tie into the broader story of the 250th anniversary of the U.S. and the 150th anniversary of Colorado.
