ACCESSIBILITY
The Molly Brown House Museum is a multi-story, Victorian-era home constructed in 1889. We strive to be as accessible as possible; however, due to the historic nature of the home, only the first floor of the house and basement exhibit space are accessible via lift.

Library Pass Partners

The Library Pass Partner Program offers library cardholders the opportunity to visit the Molly Brown House Museum using their library membership. The museum is currently partnering with the Denver Public Library. To secure a pass, please visit the library district’s website.
Library passes are valid for up to four “Explore the Museum On Your Own” tickets, which are redeemable on the specified date in your pass confirmation. Please note that the pass does not guarantee a tour spot, as tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Some tour times may be sold out or unavailable. For the best chance of securing tickets, we recommend arriving early on your scheduled visit date.

Through Museums for All, those receiving food assistance (SNAP benefits) can gain free or reduced admission to more than 400 museums throughout the United States. Simply present your SNAP EBT (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Electronic Benefit Transfer) card. The Molly Brown House Museum is proud to offer a reduced admission rate of $3 per person (up to four guests) for our Explore on Your Own Tickets and $5 per person (up to four guests) for our Guided Tour tickets to anyone who presents their EBT card upon purchase.
Museums for All is an initiative of the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), a federal agency based in Washington, DC. The initiative is administered by the Association of Children’s Museums through a cooperative agreement with IMLS.

On our free evenings, we kindly ask that you consider making a donation based on your ability. Please note that the Museum tends to be busier on free days, so you might want to consider visiting on a regular admission day instead. For
large groups or those with special needs, we offer the option to schedule a tour on another day, with free or reduced admission available.

Whether you’re exploring the house on your own using our audio tour, or on a group tour with a docent, guests generally spend around 45 minutes in the house, but you are welcome to stay as long as you like.

Because of the delicate nature of the home, this experience is not recommended for children under the age of 6, but it is up to the discretion of the adults accompanying the children. Children 5 and under are free.

On-street parking is available in one and two hour increments throughout the neighborhood. There are also pay lots in the neighborhood, the closest located at the SW corner of 13th Avenue and Logan Street one block west. Follow this link for more information.
Located 5 blocks away is the Cultural Center parking garage which services the Denver Art Museum and the Colorado History Museum and has hourly and daily parking rates.
Bus Parking Bus parking is located on Grant between 14th and Colfax, on the east side of the Capitol building, approximately 3 blocks west of the Museum. Additional bus parking is located on Lincoln between 14th and Colfax, on the west side of the Capitol building, approximately 4 blocks west of the Museum, and on Broadway between 14th and Colfax, on the east side of Civic Center Park, approximately 5 blocks west of the Museum.

There are approximately 22 steps to the 2nd floor and 15 to the 3rd floor via the main staircase and 19 steps from the 2nd floor down to the 1st via the servants’ staircase. See accessibility accommodations below for more information.

The Museum is a multi-story, Victorian-era home constructed in 1889 and as a result is not fully accessible to all persons with disabilities. The Carriage House Visitor’s Center and Museum Store is accessible on the ground level.
- Self-guided tours of the historic house museum are wheelchair accessible for the first floor level via a lift. The wheelchair must be able to fit on a 38″ x 52″ platform.
- Accessible parking and site access is located at the rear of the property in the alleyway adjacent to the carriage house (a permit must be displayed).
- Service animals individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability are welcome in the museum and carriage house. Non-service animals, or pets whose function is to provide comfort or emotional support, are not permitted.
- Walking apparatus are permitted in the house museum and carriage house visitor’s center.
- Touch tours of the museum are available for the blind and sight limited (must call ahead to make arrangements).
- Audio headsets are available for those who need extra assistance hearing the tour guide. Tour scripts are available for the deaf.
- Tours of the museum last approximately 45 minutes and require short periods of walking, climbing 2-3 flights of stairs, and longer periods of standing. Stools are available for those who need to sit during the tour.
- Two accessible restrooms are located in the basement level of the house museum via the lift, and one in the Carriage House. A family-friendly restroom with changing station is located in the basement level of the house museum.

Due to tight spaces, strollers and large backpacks are not allowed in the museum. You will be asked to leave strollers in the courtyard during the tour. Please consider leaving your backpacks at home or in your car.

The house itself is not air-conditioned and can therefore get very warm during the hotter summer months. We recommend bringing a water bottle with you on the tour. The carriage house visitor center does have air-conditioning.

Generally, no. However, you can call the Visitor Experience staff at 303-832-4092 ext. 13 and they can tell you if there happens to be some extra space where luggage can be kept on the day of your visit.
We also recommend checking out LUGDEN: a luggage storage and phone charging service. Offering pick-up service at Union Station, Downtown Denver Sheraton, Hilton, and Downtown Denver Air-BnB’s. They provide hourly, daily, overnight and weekly luggage storage. LUGDEN stores a wide variety of luggage and bags including skis, snowboards, golf clubs, pelicans cases, ruckpacks, hiking backpacks and anything else you don’t feel like lugging around.
