Docent
Volunteer docents lead groups through Margaret Brown's Victorian home and tell
about the life of this remarkable woman and her times. Docents also discuss the
restoration of the museum and the programs and events the museum hosts. The museum's
staff provides on-site training with topics including the life of Margaret Brown,
restoration techniques, the Victorian era, group management skills, and public
speaking. The museum offers additional training courses and insider's tours throughout
the year to enhance your knowledge as a docent. Docents
should enjoy learning and teaching about history and like working
with people of all ages. The museum asks for a 6- to 8-hour commitment
per month. Volunteer guides must be 16 or older.
Victorian
Eating Experience
Victorian Eating Experience Volunteers create an authentic Victorian
dining experience for guests. Experiences include teas, luncheons
and dinners and may require some nights and weekends. Volunteers
create Victorian recipes, cook and serve meals to guests in the
Museum's third floor tearoom. Victorian Eating Experience volunteers
should enjoy cooking, Victorian etiquette and working with people
of all ages. Public speaking is not required for this position.

Pages assist docents in leading groups through the museum and answering
questions about Margaret Brown or the museum. This position is open
to children between the ages of 10-16. The Museum provides on-site
training for everyone interested in this position. Volunteer pages
should have an interest in history and enjoy working with people
of all ages. Public speaking is not required for this position.
Hours for this position are available in June, July and August only.
