Limited museum
parking is available in a lot at the corner of 13th Avenue
and Pearl Street, one block east of the Museum.
This lot opens at 9 am and is locked at 5 pm each day.
Please note, this lot may be closed on snowy days. Additional
on-street parking is available in one and two hour increments throughout
the neighborhood. There are also pay lots in the neighborhood, the
closest locacted at the SW corner of 13th Ave. and Logan St., one
block west. Located 5 blocks away is the Cultural Center parking
garage which services the Denver Art Museum and the Colorado History
Museum and has hourly and daily parking rates.
There
are no lunch facilities on the property. There are many
restaurants within walking distance of the Museum. You may eat sack
lunches on the Capitol building grounds 3 blocks west of the Museum,
or at Civic Center Park, 5 blocks west of the Museum.
The
Museum itself is not handicapped accessible due to the historic
nature of the home. There are many stairs leading to the
front door. Once inside, there is a staircase leading to the second
floor that is wide and navigable for most people using canes or
crutches. The back staircase leading from the second floor to the
first floor kitchen is very steep and narrow, but alternate arrangements
to use the front stairs may be made with your guide if these are
a problem.
The
Museum Store is handicapped accessible. We have one
handicapped parking spot available adjacent to the Carriage
House Museum Store (a handicapped tag must be displayed) and store
staff can provide a video tour for guests unable to tour the Museum.
